As I remember, on that one it is the Abs button. It will come up on the display as |[]| (the [] being a closed box)

Aye that's modulus. I have a casio fx-570ES. Shift-hyp on mine does the trick on mine.

Sorry I should of been clearer, I meant like calculating the remainder. e.g. 10mod3 = 1.

Is that called the remainder function?

I don't reckon so. Why would you need such a thing... working out the remainder is pretty easy from looking at the fraction/decimal that the calc gives you...

Yeah you're right actually. Bit of an epic fail from me. I guess you can't use it in the middle of a larger function though? unless you calculate it and write it down first.
I'm gonna go read up on modular arithmetic on wikipedia now anyway, which is probably a better start.
