Starbucks have offered to pay their UK staff's tuition fees as an employee incentive, for courses taught online by Arizona State University. These are part-time courses, that are to be taken around the staff's current shift pattern.

A similar scheme in the US has enrolled 18,000 staff - and the UK will begin with an initial 100 places, with the promise to expand if there is demand.

What do you think about the move? Do you think other companies should follow Starbucks' lead?

It would be a nicer gesture if they issued this with a U.K based uni for U.K staff.

I like it particularly as they are offering staff the opportunity to study what they want rather than stipulating it has to be relevant to the job.
