I have accepted a place for MSc Finance 2019/20 (full time) and am planning to stay on campus during my studies.

I just received access to accommodation choices and there are two options - 40 week and 50 week contracts.

Considering the summer term ends end of June (which would be enough for 40 week contract), how crucial is it for a masters student to have 50 week contract?

I am based in UK outside my studies, however quite far away from Lancaster, i.e. could travel there once a week or so if needed after my contract ends.

I can't speak for Finance, but most MSc courses use the time from Summer term to the end of the summer holidays for dissertation/project writing. So if you're goood at applying yourself then you might be able to work from home. Your question is maybe specific enough that it's worth contacting the department to see what you'll have to do over summer?
