Im turning 18 this July, can i buy drinks at a pub because in terms of year i am technically 18 or will they not allow me?

What don't you understand about 18. If you are 18 and you have valid ID you may buy drinks. If you are not 18 you may not

legally, no

but UK pubs ID'ing standards vary so, in the right pub you wont be asked to your show ID

You won't be able to buy drinks until your 18th birthday (the actual day - so no showing up at 10pm the night before and expecting to be served just because you're *almost* 18!)
