Piano and Violin duet- any ideas?

me (a pianist) and a violinist are thinking of doing a duet for a concert at the end of next month- it's sort of last minute. we're both over dipABRSM standard in performance so i think we'll be able to play most things... but since we've got exams, we won't be able to rehearse much. Has anyone got any ideas for a good piano and violin duet?
How about Primavera by Ludovico Einaudi?

It takes a while to get going, but once it does, it's great

Lol, thanks.

But it's like a concert of "classical" music - so like beethoven , rather than contemporary like einaudi.

But thanks anyway
Have you heard of Elgar's Salut d'Amour op.12?
AMAZING, its for the higher grades so it depends what level you and your friend are currently.

EDIT: oh dipABRSM :P should be no problem then.

Salut d'amour was at the grade 5 list a few years back-i played it for my violin exam then. I agree, it's a lovely piece.

I've played that on the piano
I didn't know there was an arrangement for violin and piano though!
Do you know where I can hear/find the music?

I don't know ... I found it accidentally on limewire when trying to find a recording of the Funeral March, I'm afraid. Not being a string player, I can't really say whether or not it's rearrange-able by ear or something. Sorry!

I don't know; I can't play the violin. However, you can see the sheet music for the third movt. here: http://www.sheetmusicarchive.net/compositions_b/bt_vc8_3.pdf (The first couple of lines on the page are from the second movement.)
Korngold Gartenscene, it's the most beautiful piece in the world.

Find the MP3.

Honestly, it's a delight to play for the pianist and the soloist.

classical- sorry!
Hmmm I think bittersweet Symphony by the verve would work quite well in that form

Dunno if that is acceptable

Do you happen to still have the Korngold Gartenszene for violin and piano? I would love a copy.
Thanks!
