English Lit revision!!

I am trying to study GCSE English Lit(AQA) and I am really struggling to cut down the amount of quotes to memorise!

I am doing Frankenstein, Lord of the Flies and Macbeth. I have tried to find quotes which cover more than one theme for all of the texts, but I have WAY to many to memorise!!!

1. Which quotes did you guys memorise?
2. How did you pick out/choose which quotes to memorise?
I'd say that to be fully prepared you will need supporting quotes on: characters; key scenes; setting; critical plot points; themes.

If you have been doing sufficient practice essays you will find that there are some quotes that you rely on over and over again. Nonetheless, you should still have the other ones in your back pocket, just in case.

The bottom line is that you will need to learn a lot of quotes. That's the nature of the subject. There's no substitute for hard work - and just repeating them/quizzing them really helps.
