fashion courses

Hi I am Madhura Daftari from India. I am science graduate and studied fashion for two years, I have also worked in the industry. I desire to study fashion in London collage of fashion. My question is what are parameters to get in there apart from a great portfolio?
Hiya Madhura,

Usually, the qualifications needed will vary depending on the course, you should be able to find the information that you need for each of LCF's courses here.

Hope this helps,

could you tell me about Plymouth college?
Of course, Madhura!

Plymouth College of Art is a specialist art and design university. We offer several Fashion-based courses that are all open in terms of design and style, each with slightly different main focuses and all with different modules (course-specific information can be found on each of the course pages on our website or in our prospectus). If you'd like to check out our courses, you can find all the information here.

If you wanted more information on funding and applications, you can email us at [email protected] or call +44 (0)1752 203434 - our course requirements are "a portfolio and a minimum of 96 UCAS points", however, we also welcome applications "from students who do not have formal qualifications but can provide evidence of their creativity, skills and experience". Even if you didn't meet the criteria for the degree course, you could be taken onto one of the Extended Degree courses.

We are located in the heart of Plymouth, a few minutes walk away from the train station, shopping mall, museum, Plymouth Art Centre, Plymouth's historic Barbican and plenty of bars and restaurants. There's inspiration right on your doorstep from the wilds of Dartmoor to beaches and coastline only a few minutes away from the city. Our Fashion studios are based at our main campus and you would have access to a wide range of facilities, including the Fabric Lab, which gives you the technology and teaches you the skills to design, cut, sew, print, dye, imprint, etc.

From my experience, everyone (staff and peers) are friendly, approachable and helpful, it's great to walk the hallways knowing you're surrounded by creative and like-minded people, and the college really encourages collaboration (both within and outside of your course, as well as outside of the college) and putting yourself out there through work, volunteering and other experiences.

Please do let me know if there is anything else you'd like to know - about any of the courses, about the college, about the city, etc.

Hope this helps,
Harriet
