Mechanics - projectiles question

A child is trying to throw a small stone to hit a target painted on a vertical wall. The child and the wall are on the horizontal ground. The child is standing a horizontal distance of 8m from the base of the wall. The child throws the stone from a height of 1m with speed 12ms−1 at an angle of 20° above the horizontal.
(i) Find the direction of motion of the stone when it hits the wall.

I honestly don't know where to even start. Can someone direct me, please?

To find the direction of motion of the stone you'll need to find the horizontal velocity (easy) and vertical velocity (suvat) at the point the stone hits the wall and then use trig to find the angle. Please try that and post your working.

By doing what you said I eventually got 14.1 to the horizontal.
My friends got the same answer too.

Thank you!

dw guys i gotch u:

vx=12cos20
8 = 12tcos20
vy=12sin20 –gcv(t)
tanθ= vy / v
