What actually is natural law? It is a set of moral principles or just a way of thinking?

Think its similar to deontology in that its a set of moral principles, like a moral law. But I don't think (and don't quote me on this) that Natural Law is a set of 'moral truths' like deontology, think its just guidelines based on Christian scripture.
