Univ of Bath vs Queen Mary for Data Science Course

Hi,

I got accepted to Univ of Bath and QMUL. Both courses are almost same and offer 1 year placement year. After I got both offers I started reading details about campus, accommodation etc. Now, I'm confused which univ to select.

My Profile: I have 8 years of work exp in IT industry. 5 years in India and 3 years in South Korea.

Concerns about Univ of Bath:
1) Placed outside London, so are there equal job opportunities in Bath? Or would I have to visit London for job interviews?

Concerns about QMUL:
1) Everyone says that Mile end campus isn't safe area. What is it really like?
2) Does QMUL have good reputation with Employers? Even though QMUL has high ranking its employer reputation is less compared to Univ of Bath.

It would be really helpful if someone could help me with their experience.
Unless you hold a UK/EU passport you are highly unlikely to secure work in the UK so you may want to think about employment outside of the UK.

Is it because the employer has to sponsor the visa? Any other particular reason?
An employer can only take on someone without a UK/EU passport if there is no one else in the country qualified to do the job which is unlikely unless you have some highly specialist skills.

Hi,

Did you finally join any of the two. If yes, how was the experience and any suggestion for 2020 applicant.
