Will this get marks I basically compared War Photographer to Emigrée and below this is my essay in a nut shell tell me what you guys think please

Basically this what I wrote basically ...

Basically I wrote that in War Photographer the Photographer feels trapped and doesn’t realise that he has seen a horrific sight until he looks at the photos. But I compared it to Emigree by saying that in Emigree that the poet is affected negatively at the start as she doesn’t feel as if she belongs to her city but later on the extract she is proud and shows her love towards her city. But I said that Emigree tries to make all the negative into a positive whereas in War Photographer it stays negative and that they don’t care. Is this right

Does anyone know if you can compare storm on the island with the war photographer . I did that because it was the only poem I remembered the best .

I compared it to SOTI too
Yeah I guess you could talk about it if you talked about the poem being a metaphor for the irish war

What animal farm questions did everyone do? How did you find the exam???😏

The Moses and Benjamin one!! AQA were way too nice with these questions...
Is exposure a good poem to compare with War photographer? I could remember exposure much better than remains and thought the examiner would’ve been less likely to have seen an exposure response than a remains one. I wrote about how I’m War photographer Duffy shows the effects of war on the photographers (they are watching the suffering) whereas Owen shows the effects of war on the soldiers themselves (as they fight against the weather). I then compared stuff like they both used imagery between black and white etc

Was this a good choice of poem? I’m starting to have second thoughts now
Did anyone talk about the religious imagery in Poppies and War Photographer?
Oh no I didn’t mention it like that although that’s is great analysis I mentioned the media res differently ,your essay sounds great from what you’ve told me definitely top band it’s original urghh I wish I had mentioned that well done though

And for one of my differences did you write about war photographer when she said "suffering set out in order rows"...more organised and structured pain as opposed to the use of media Res in bayonet charge..."suddenly he was awoke and was running"....immerses reader in the middle of action etc? places reader in victims mind etc etc..did you use anything similar to this ....bit worried it sounds a bit dodgy 😂

That’s so nice to hear - yours also sounds really good. Honestly, before I mentioned religion I only really spoke about the theme of loss, national and personal mourning which is pretty standard. I also mentioned the motif of blood (idek if that’s a thing in poetry but I went for it) and the use of colour? As in “black and white” and “yellow bias binding”. I’m hoping it was okay because I messed up the unseen poetry - what even was the second poem I wrote it in seven minutes dhdhdbdh

Honestly everyone’s interpretation is soo good with bayonet charge I think that if your response was justified and makes sense and you analysed it well it was a good choice , I was a little nervous when I asked people and nobody said bayonet charge at all , hopefully the examiner enjoys reading somethings little different to the majority
I wrote 13 detailed pages all together on an inspector calls and poetry and unseen poems - what grade you reckon?
What was the lord of the flies question in English lit paper 2??
A person could have written four pages of brilliant, perceptive, high-level analysis and have gotten a 9, or fifty poorly structured pages of waffle. It’s all about the quality of your writing. I’m sure you’ve done very well. Assuming your analysis was of a standard level-6 quality, as you wrote more and you would have had more developed points of analysis, you could easily get a very high grade, 7+

What did people compre war photographer to?
Not sure if I wasted my time, but I threw in a paragraph about context in the War Photographer question. I compared it to Remains first and foremost.

I compared the context in a separate paragraph (A. Because my paragraph was getting clunky. B. So I ensured that I showed the reason as to why they had the differences that they had.)

My context paragraph stated that War Photographer discusses the affects that war has on people as minuscule in relation to the affect that war has on people who are actually experiencing it firsthand. This contrasts with Armitage's Remain which was in his collection called the 'Not dead'. Remains was about Machine Gunner Guardsman Tromans and so was a first hand account, which is why the affects of war were much more psychological. Bla bla bla. Then compared to Ann Duffy having War Photographer friends who were 'impassive' but we're passive, because we aren't experiencing it for ourselves.

Yeah... Just realised how this could have been a waste of time loool
Did anyone compare War Photographer to Kamikaze? I did.

I did the selfishness question for AIC and basically talked about :

Arthur Birling
- his capitalist view- reduced the salary of his workers
- him being more worried about a public scandal which would ruin his reputation
- him being angrier at the fact that Eric stole the money than at what he did to Eva
- the fact that he wants Sheila to marry Gerald for status instead of being happy

Sybil Birling
- she was jealous and angry at Eva for calling herself" Mrs birling" so she denied Eva the help she required.
- like her husband she also supports her husband for sheila's marriage

Sheila Birling
- she got Eva sacked because she was jealous of her "pretty face"
- she also tells Gerald "I don't think I will" in response to her mother's statement of men are always busy and she would have to get used to it
-she, however, has some socialist views " these girls aren't cheap labour they're people

Gerald
- The upper class brought up in an aristocratic house
- uses Eva but also shows her some compassion
- capitalist views and supports Arthur.
- in the end, he spins his tale in his favor
- asks Sheila "did you see the photograph he showed your father"
- wants Sheila to marry him even after the whole ordeal.
- neither old nor young but leans more towards the older generation.

Eric Birling:
- uses and throws Eva
- has me socialist vies -" why shouldn't they try for higher wages...
- calls Eva a good sport
- steals money to support her
- he doesn't appear to care but when he hears his mother has killed his child he flies into a rage

other points
- then talked about Ouspensky's theory
- and the audience's reaction to the behaviour in the play
- also said the working class is always a victim
- Edna is the most unselfish person in the play as she doesn't complain
- the passive working class is not as affected as the active one.

I WROTE 8 PAGES FOR AIC SO
WHAT GRADE DO YOU GUYS THINK I'LL GET?
(edited 4 years ago)
can we talk about what everyone wrote for unseen poetry??? especially the comparison question because i didnt understand the second poem at all? just a load of waffle
