I have A3 drawing/painting paper, I want this in A2 but it's so expensive. Is there a way I can join 2 A3 sheets of paper to make an A2 sheet without being able to tell it is 2 sheets of A3 paper?

Your best bet would be to tape the back so they are edge to edge with no overlap. You'll still get a little line there though so if that's going to affect your piece you're pretty much stuck with getting A2. It might be possible to reduce how obvious the line is by adding a bit of paint or glue right there very carefully just to smooth it out a bit. Depends how much you're going to be bothered by that line. Maybe test it out with some bits of A4 or any scraps you might have to see how much it bothers you before using up any of your A3 on it.
