The Student Room Group

LinkedIn

I recently just made a LinkedIn so i naturally don't have many followers. I see some students in my year who have like over 400 connections already at 20 years old. Is it the norm to connect with so many people even if you don't know who they are?
most people befriend random people to get more people associated with their profile. Theoretically this would put them higher in employer's sights but since loads are doing it, 500+ followers is really bare minimum. Connecting with the right people as oppose to some random people would be better e.g. connected by school, career choice, subjects...etc.
I ‘m not on LinkedIn, but I’m happy in my job, so don’t really need it. It doesn’t matter how many followers you have, as long as you have a few good ones. I don’t have many followers on tsr, but they’re all people I really like, and I’m grateful and honoured for their appreciation xx don’t worry, you’re doing fine! Good luck in the future.
