Higher Technological Studies

I know the exam is over a week away but dont expect many replys as fairly unpopular subject..

anyone know of any good websites for content of course, my folders a bit of a mess and obviously nothing on bitesize.

Im sitting it also, was gonna make a thread on this but didnt think anyone else was doing it... I dont know of much wbesites apart from www.techyman.co.uk which may be of some help..

yeah thats the only site we have been told of.

got giving the last 5 years past paper from teacher and answers on sqa website so pretty useful but could do with some notes to go over as struggling with structures.

Ye we have all the past papers from 2001...

Is there any chance you could take a look at 2004 question 11? I struggling with 11c) and keep ending up with a huge gain! :confused:

I have the marking instructions for 2000-2002, ill scan them up later if you want...

BTW for that question how did you work it out, did you work out Ib and Ic then use hfe= Ic/Ib??? And if so what did you get for Ic and Ib??

Iin = (5-0.7-0.7)/22000 = 1.636x10^-4

Iout = (12-0.8)/26 = 0.43

Iout/Iin = 2627.77

Hfe1 = 2627.77/Hfe2

=2627.77/20
=131.4

Yea last exam.. dont really have a clue whats gonna come up, im just gonna do past paper questions and look through the notes, ill probably focus on voltages and op-amps everything else is alright...

right i guess i have to sit through this annoying subject like everyone else...
although this subject seems "similar" to Physics...it's just so old and unpopular...and i AGREE! but no worries guys! for whoever is sitting this years Higher Technological Studies Exam fear no more!
I have successfully found ALL the course notes u require..eg. Structures and materials notes, systems and control and Applied Electronics...even Homework sheets and answers provided! all the practice we can get..since my teacher doesn't teach everything e.g.Nodal analysis..u kno at least give us notes!! :mad:

and assumes we "should" know what to do...
anyways i would like to share u this fantastic website with all the solutions to the Assignments and teacher/student notes that we should get if they don't want to teach us it...

Thanks lynx, that is very helpful indeed.

I must admit though hearing stories of you guys' Tech Studs teachers, I'm very lucky! Mine teaches every tiny detail of the course and never hands out print-outs from previous years, he always gets an A3 sheet of paper and goes through every new part of the course bit by bit with us sitting around it doing the calculations etc. :biggrin:

Wish I had found this last year though :frown:

Failed the 2009 exam by a few marks :P Re-sitting this year not because I need the subject, but because Mr O'Kane is cool :smile:
