It depends on how you write it, honestly. There's no way of saying with this little information.

I wrote a dystopian novel six years ago based on an alternative outcome to the Scottish referendum. The image you get in your head hearing that is likely very different to what the final product actually looks like.

That is exactly why a book sounds amazing. Taking liberties with the narrative to pump some interest into the drain that is Brexit. Come on, your profile pic is Morpheus, are you telling me you can't see the benefit of a dystopian allegoric take on Brexit. It would be brilliant. Take the red pill!

I’m struggling to contain my excitement as I type.

Something tells me that the "fiction" may actually become a "documentary"

It's a great idea, but I'm not sure I need to read a book about it - I'm currently living it....

The market is flooded; Boris Johnson and the rest of the Leave campaigners have produced plenty of fictional and fantasy works on the subject already.

Yeah I was going to say: are we sure this would be a fiction book?

It is a terrible idea. Brexit is evolving so fast, anything you created would be out of date and incredible as soon as it was written.

Keep up with the ideas though. A better one will come to you, and I support the wider project. Good on you.

I think many people are fed up with Brexit and so it may not be something widely read. In any case, if you wrote the last three years as fiction no-one would believe you.

The most likely outcome now is no Brexit at all. Staying in the EU.

If that happens, what relevance would "Brexit" then have to your story??

Why not just write a novel about societal breakdown and completely forget any connection to Brexit? It is a distraction.

A far more likely cause for a dystopia in 2059 is a major war.
