Hey so I did my mocks a couple of months ago and got the following results:
(I know u English whizzes are out there so please hear my plea and help me!)

Maths 8
Physics 9
Chemistry 8
Biology 8
German 8
D.T. 8
Theology 7
English 5

As you can see my English is not great. Since then I have still been revising and everything else is getting better apart from my english. I keep practicing and my vocabulary range is rather extensive (according to my teachers). However, for some reason I still end up scraping a 5. I am in urgent need of help !!! :/ Pls give me some advice I have structures I use like PEZEL which work but still.

English Language - watch Mr Bruff’s videos as they explain how to analyse everything and the way you should be phrasing things in the exam, pay attention to the objectives on each question - they’ll show you the things you need to include and don’t need to include to save you some time, for creative writing just read as much books you can and soon your mind will be attenuated to the way they write, and you will find yourself emulating their style

English Literature - offer many interpretations on one quote, don’t just give the ‘easy’ answer - try to think outside the box, use the structure PEELCE (point evidence explain link to question context effect on reader/audience), do essay plans, annotate unseen extracts

I understand your frustration, science was more my forte and what I enjoyed, but hopefully this will help 🙂
