Cambridge economics

What GCSE grades (9-1) would you need to have a realistic chance of getting into Cambridge economics? (Not the minimum requirements). Any of you study economics at Cambridge? Also what kind of work experience would you need?
1) There is no minimum GCSE requirement, and there is no one answer. Every year, some people with less than stellar GCSE grades will demonstrate potential through their A-level predictions, entry test and interview, and will be made offers regardless. Others with straight A*s will get rejected.

2) You don't need any work experience. Universities don't want to know why you want to work in finance; they want to know why you want to study Economics. You need to demonstrate that you would be an interesting, engaging person to teach. If work experience can help you demonstrate that, then fine, but it's not essential - you can just as easily demonstrate your interest through books you've read, news stories you've followed, public lectures you've attended (I recommend the LSE public lectures - try and go if you live in/near London; if not they're all available for free online as podcasts).

Friend of a friend got 13 A*s and was rejected pre-interview. So GCSEs aren't everything.
