Do BTECs put you at a disadvantage?

Kings College London's Law admissions allow a Distinction to replace an A in their A*AA ALevel requirements. What I want to know is does this put you at a disadvantage?

It will depend on all sorts of things - your other A level subjects, your specific BTEC subject, the reason for choosing a BTEC (often it is because of limited subject choice in your school/college and that would normally be explained in your reference) etc etc.

Your best bet is to ring up KCL on Tuesday/Wednesday when they're open again and talk to them about your qualifications and your chances. They should be able to explain in more detail the sort of things that they take into account.

Don't forget that you get 5 choices on UCAS - so you can easily afford to use 2 or 3 of those choices for somewhere that's a bit of a risk as long as your other choices include somewhere a bit more certain that you like.
