I think it's called 'Frotteurism'...I don't know much about it,though.
I doubt a one-off 'bum pinch' is classed as this - Frotteurism is essentially 'the touching up of an unsuspecting person', probably in a more serious way than you were postulating...

Whilst it could be construed as sexual assault I would place it in the same catagory as classing pinching on the arm as assault. Whilst technically it falls under the description it would generally be considered too minor to be prosecuted.
If however bum pinching is part of an ongoing scheme of sexual/offensive innuendoes/taunts/bullying then that would be classified as harassment and treated accordingly.
hmm, again if someone pincehed one breast once in say a nightclub then no, I would be more pissed off than if someone pinched my bum as I see it as a more private/sexual area and therefore see the assault as more sexual. However I find it unlikely that I would prosecute or that i would be taken seriously if I tried to. If soemone menuvered me into a dark corner and groped my breasts for a period of time whilst I tried to escape then I would consider that assault and take action.

And really, why would anyone make a fuss about someone pinching their bum once?
I don't know, I can see why it'd be sexual harrassment but to be honest, I'd go into a club expecting people to pinch each other. Maybe it's just me..
Sometimes when I'm in a massive crowd I pinch a bum then just disperse. It's fun.

Hmm, it would be arguable that you consented to having your bum pinched by dancing and acting seductively in a club.
