poetry , alcoholic dad

Dad , dad . I wish I could yell ,
Knowing you’d help
Before hearing a siren bell .

The only day I felt treasured ,
Was when you lied to me about a birthday
Special .

Holidays would spring ,
Me wanting to sing .
Until I got home ,
And the bottle was sprung open .

Mum couldn’t have felt anymore alone
Even when you were home .
Her heart broken up - just like the marriage ended up .

With luck , you’d give me a buck .
For all the ****s , you’d never seem pay up .

Now I know , why you’re so slow ,
And why you always put on a show .

Ive given you a hint ,
almost
As sharp as flint .

Now before I hear that familiar clink ,
Dont wink
When I say give up the drink .
Very emotive
