You can apply it to any of the BRICs but for this case I'd use China vs USA - GDP (US$12 trillion in China vs US$18 trillion in USA), GPNs (key location for global TNCs), shift in production (now manufacture higher value goods due to increasing education levels). On the other hand, China may not be a threat due to income pp (US$8,000 in China vs US$55,000 in USA), TNCs (has most global brands e.g. Disney which spreads their ideologies in a form of soft power), military technology (US has a global reach, China does not), geopolitics (China limited role compared to USA - 'global police'), and energy security (China more reliant on exports so are more insecure).

I dont really know but possibly something about something war on terror requiring millitsrty interventions, whilst IGOs mainly provide development and economic aid

*evaluating need for regeneration
*govt policy decision plays key role in regeneration
*local govt policy decision plays key role in regeneration
