Smallest cation
Largest anion
hence D
(Large anion => more polarisable. Small cation => more polarising)

I came across another question on this topic and i applied the idea that a large anion is more polarisable but I got the answer wrong. Do you know how?
Which of the following compounds has the most polarized anion?
A Na2O
B MgO
C K2O
D CaO

answer: B

Thanks and sorry for the many questions

You applied the idea wrongly. The anion is the same in all cases. So, in this case, the most polarised anion depends on the cation.
Hence B (refer to post 2)
