Hello

I would like to work in the finance sector.
I am currently holding an offer for Chemical Engineering at UCL.

Is a chemical engineering degree well suited for a career in IB or should I change my course to maybe something like Econ or Stats and Finance at UCL.

I have heard that UCL's engineering department was mediocre.

Also after completing a Beng in Chemical Engineering, will I able to join a master degree in a prestigious university ( maybe Columbia, MIT, LBS if God wills).

I mean wouldn't the admission committee find it strange that a chemical engineering degree wishes to continue his postgraduate studies in Finance ?

Finally could I still apply to IB internships during my Beng ?

Thank you

You don't need a specific degree to get into Investment Banking. ChemEng is fine, and there's nothing wrong with pursuing a postgraduate qualification in finance afterwards.
