The first few books are very similar, but the show definitely steered off in a different direction. I enjoy both, but season 8 has made me want to reread the series again 😂

True I hate when the book and the movie are the same and the show is very diffrent... like shadowhunters.

To be fair, I'm glad they're different. I'd be slightly miffed if the books end the same as the show, particularly since Martin is horrendous at writing the books in a timely manner.

An anonymous girl by Greer Hendricks - it’s a psychological thriller about an obsession between the participant and the researcher in a psychology experiment about moral and ethics. It’s good so far, not normally something I would read since I normally read light humour romances

Same, but Shadowhunters is an exception for me because I like it - but as its own thing rather than a TV series version of the book. I imagine they're two completely separate things and then I can enjoy it.

Although... Shadowhunters took a while to get good. I like the later episdoes but the earliest ones are too cringy.

Fiction: Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski, If Only by Cherise Sinclair, and Love Fast Los Angeles by Davey Havok. All of these are different genres and I bounce between them based on mood.

Plus two non-fiction books on the go: one is historical (Elisabeth Báthory) and the other is a textbook on gothic literature. They're research for a paranormal military series I'm working on.

Yeah I think they dragged on somethings for a bit too long, the other books seemed more action packed and fast paced haha :dontknow: it's one of my favourite series for sure tho, shame the movies weren't better/sequels not made

The books are just too rich. They were never going to be able to make a good movie, or series of movies, about it - a long-running TV show would suit it much better. Unfortunately GoT seems to have the market cornered, and if a TV show was ever made of Inheritance, viewers would probably expect more sexy stuff than Eragon can really offer...
