Winking at girl

So i was on the tube the other day and I caught some girl staring at me from the doors opposite mine. So i started looking at her as well and then gave her wink while putting my eye brows up. Surprise she started smiling, but unfortunately my stop was next and the crowd between me and her was just too much to approach.

To the girls, would you feel comfortable being approached and talked to on the tube for example? or would it be weird? I mean what other way is there?
