The boy is picking up trash

You'd use the verb ''recoger''

If you’re trying to say ‘what is your favourite holiday memory with your family?’,

¿Cuál es su memoria favorita de las vacaciones con su familia?
As a native Spanish speaker I can confirm that the sentence can be written in different ways:

¿Cuál es su/tu (we use "su" in a formal way and "tu" in a more casual conversation) recuerdo favorito de vacaciones con su/tu familia?

Although you can write "las vacaciones", the article there implies something specific, and in this case the sentence doesn't specify any place in particular. Lastly, don't confuse memory with "memoria" as we use it as a whole (what a great memory you have!). If you want to specify you must use "recuerdo".
