For every 10 minutes of starring at the book, practice for 50 minutes.
In fact for A level chemistry, books are not good. Memorise Mark Schemes. They are straight to point.

1. Make a summary sheet of all the main points to learn (e.g. general equations, synthetic pathways, reaction mechanisms, etc.)
2. Read through textbook/notes at least once and note down any important info. you're likely to forget.
3. PRACTISE PAPERS! And then study the mark schemes and examiner reports after. There's honestly no better methods.
4. Learn key definitions! Make a quizlet or something and make sure you can parrot them off. Also make sure you know any formulae you need.
