Idea For Sustainability in Sports Clubs at University Watch

It's more of a multitude of questions:
First, I have an idea that potentially sports clubs could, to reduce single use plastics at university which they are already trying to do, offer instead, much like professional sports teams do, a water boyesque job (obvs a volunteering position) where one member (perhaps a different one every week) is chosen to fill and deliver reusable bottles every week to the games. I know this is not without its issues, including hygiene and potential damage to said bottles rendering them not useless, but not desirable for use, especially in an official capacity, but surely the idea is worth exploring?

And second of all, how would I go about canvassing support for this idea at uni? I was thinking (if it's a good idea) of emailing SU representatives and then maybe asking people in my team's committee?
