What does "Microsoft Exchange Approval-message expired" mean?

I sent out an email a week back and it says now "Microsoft Exchange Approval-message expired"
Why does this come up? Is it maybe because it was sent during a week off?
Does this mean the recipient has not got my email so I have to send it again??
