Why the double standards?

Because Hoodie's promote gang culture, apparently.

Err cause it's people's religion...and not usually associated with crime, unlike hoodies.

Cue bnp ******s who will say bluewater hate white people

There's a very fine line between gang culture and religion.
A) Respect
B) Those who wear hoods are often up to something different from those females wearing a religious head dress.

Because being part of a recognised religion gives you rights over and above the rest of us.

Uni hoodies are not associated with crime?

I assumed hoodies were allowed, so long as the hood isn't up. Which sounds normal to me.

yeah, but people who Wear Burka's can argue it's against there belief's not to, If I walked in wearing my black H&M hoodie I'd have no such defeance.

I wore a hoodie to Bluewater obviously it wasn't up but I thought that rule was slightly relaxed?
I think the purpose of the hood not being allowed up is so one could recognize or see your face. I think they should apply the same regulation with everything else: not covering up your face.
hoodies arent a symbol of a type of religion? its a trend or something like that, burka thats religious so its allowed, i know people who have worked at places like bluewater and in bluewater wearing burkas...there shouldnt be a problem with it.
Reply 12
Because those wearing the Burka aren't usually involved in yobbish behavior.
I think you just can't put your hood up, so you can be identified on cctv etc?
Because on the whole it's teenage boys who commit violent crimes, not muslim women, idiot.

It's a long way to go from "religious headwear" to "muslim women wearing headscarves"

Which one did they mean? My religion requires me to wear a gas mask when out in public, is this okay?
I dont think anyone stoped going to bluewater because they couldnt wear their hoodie, people would proabbly stop going if they couldnt wear a burka

Being asked to take your hood down is no different from being asked to remove a motorbike helmet. There's a difference between religious dress and a hoody or a bike helmet, since a burka has religious significance, as does a nun's veil, and a hoody doesn't.

Well, actually, just as the majority of hijab-wearing muslim women are not criminals, the vast majority of hoodie-wearing youths are not criminals.
