I don’t know what I was thinking but for question 6, I left the answer at -15/9pi cms-1 instead of simplifying it! Would I lose the final mark?

CossLne worked soln for Q12 second part:


276 = (39)x7 + 3

39=(5)x7+4

5=(0)x7+5
read last digits from bottom to top gives 543_7

(Your answer is correct but here's slightly different way avoiding double negatives)


\dfrac{dV}{dt}=k(12-V)

\dfrac{1}{12-V}dV=kdt

\displaystyle\int{\dfrac{1}{12-V}}=\int{kdt}

\displaystyle-\int{\dfrac{1}{V-12}}=kt+c 

ln\lvert{V-12}\rvert=-kt-c

\displaystyle{V-12=Ae^{-kt}}

\displaystyle{V(t)=12+Ae^{-kt}}



\displaystyle{t=0, V(0)=2 =12+Ae^{0}}

\displaystyle{\Rightarrow{A=-10}}

\displaystyle{V(t)=2\left(-5e^{-kt}+6\right)}

For question 16a I keep getting -1/32e^4x-11/32.

generally you are required to simplify your answer so you will lose a mark.

What’s the general consensus about the grade boundaries? Higher or lower compared to last year? From looking at the solutions, I seemed to have lost around 10 marks on silly mistakes (extremely gutted as I got an A1 in the prelim), and am now looking at around 71/72 marks overall, so very borderline!

Thanks - this wasn't in the course when I did it so I was using general knowledge rather than gcd

I did the exact same thing😂 We should loose a mark but if it’s a common error they might let it slide, e.g. prior simplification in the first step, idk no clue!
