The extraction and purification of uranium from its ore involves the following reaction
between uranium(IV) fluoride and magnesium.
2Mg + UF4 → U + 2MgF2
What mass of uranium can be extracted from 500 tonnes of uranium(IV) fluoride and
50 tonnes of magnesium?
A 192 tonnes
B 246 tonnes
C 379 tonnes
D 495 tonnes

you first find the moles of each of the reactants and figure out what the limiting reagent is. Then take the moles of the limiting reagent and equate it to the moles of the product. Then multiply moles of product by Mr to get the mass

thats not chemistry , it's maths!

you have to look for which is the (yield) limiting factor - is it the 50 tonnes of magnesium or the 500 tonnes of uranium(4+);tetrafluoride?
