Hi, for Edexcel A Level history coursework I recently got given marks 28/40, and I need a B in history - is this still achievable? They didn't tell me what grade that would be but it is lower than I expected since my teacher told me it would be higher...
Thank you

Ive spent 45 mins trying to find the answer and havent.

It says

What are the grade boundaries?

You should not attempt to grade the work; you should be marking the work by applying the marking criteria in a consistent manner.

The coursework grades will be awarded at the end of each examination series using the standard code of practice awarding process.

So it means they arent set till later. You should contact edexcel or ask your exam officer or look yourself to locate where the boundary scores are for last years. I cant find the coursework scores.

I think 28/40 is pretty good and in any account you cant change so just focus on exams which are 4x more important. Am sure you can get a B.

Read, understand and answer the question they ask and not the one you have in your head.

Compost is an exam officer. GDunne and Reality check are also experienced examiners.
You're not the only one with a bad coursework mark I got a bad one for IT. But just forget about the coursework and go all out in revising for the exam like someone else said.

Based on last year's notional unit boundaries https://qualifications.pearson.com/content/dam/pdf/Support/Grade-boundaries/A-level/1806-a-level-notional-component-grade-boundaries1.pdf 28 is a high C though grade boundaries tend to creep up with time.
It should be a B, but yes that grade overall is still very achievable as it is only 20% and if you do well in your exams the coursework grade can only work to your advantage in that sense  you will be fine

I had a good look but only through 2017. Thanks for that I couldnt find it. I've found it more easily for other exam boards.
I asked my teacher what grade it was according to last year's grade boundaries and she said it was a borderline A, but if it's borderline then I have no clue what I will get  Thanks for the help everyone!
