Weight gain during exam period...

So the majority of students around this time are under immense stress and pressure of exams, but how many are reaching for that extra biscuit or scooping out just a bit more ice cream?

Exam period must be the prime time for weight gain and I can certainly vouch for that, I have easily gained a stone whilst in the midst of all this revision and exam stress.

So who else has noticed the weight slowly creeping on? Or am I the only person using revision as an excuse to 'stock up on brain power' i.e chocolate?

I don't tend to put that much on around exams because I get up so late during study leave I just have lunch and dinner :biggrin:
Yep I have put on about 10lbs in the past two weeks.
And proms at the end of exams too!

I went from a size 8 to a 14 when I was writing up my doctoral thesis :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:
i eat more during exam time as well as food just seems 10 times more appealing in many ways when i've got great big piles of notes on contract law to be ploughing through but i just make sure i run for longer in the mornings to compensate so it doesn't affect my weight as i would hate that.
I've lost weigh.t
I have noticed, I must say, that weight gain among the girls are much more noticeable during this difficult period. It's also the worse time in the year because the sunny weather makes them want to wear summer clothes. But it'll disappear once all the exams finish...

I suffered this really bad during A-levels and spent the entire summer in the gym making up for it :p:.

I think I went up to about 12st 8lbs during my exams, I now weigh 10st.

Exams = Binge eating.

I haven't, even though I'm sitting around the house and eating more than usual. ly metabolism!
I always get hungry when revising, as I'm sitting around for long periods of time without being active.

I buy revision food to keep me concentrated. Got through a whole 150g bag of twiglets a minute ago. Still hungry though.

Yeah exams definitely cause binge eating. I usually end up eating because I'm procrastinating and trying to think of other things to do instead of revision.
Like yesterday I made a cake :confused: and I never usually cook...

Its actually the opposite for me. I've lost quite a bit of weight and my hair has gone thinner, I get so into revision; I can't be asked to get up and go downstairs for dinner. Luckily my mum is understanding--I get room service LOL
I tend to lose weight. :frown: I forget to eat lunch or dinner but fill up on some chocolate and about 3 bottles of water daily, which leaves my tummy empty quickly as I walk up and down my room.

omg. I have totally gained 5kg. And now digging up all the summer skimpy things makes me feel depressed because they're tight :frown:

:frown:

:frown::frown:

Not helped by the fact that when I went crying about it to mum she said 'you're not fat.. you just have lots of cellulite'
and the fact that at graduation dance everyone will be super skinny because they're anorexic biatches in designer crap.

rant over:frown:
I put on weight because I eat food to delay having to revise saying I need energy

And then I have less time to exercise because I'm too worried about revising.
I've gained loads, I don't know how much because I religiously avoid scales, but I know it's not good.

It's because I'll be sitting there, not working. And then I'll think "You know what? I'm hungry. I can't possibly work in this condition, it's crazy!" So to the kitchen for a sandwich I shall go. Then I repeat the process like ten times, with assorted food.

Haha :biggrin: I can totally relate to that! My desk at the moment is scattered with various wrappers, plates, cans and tissues. Not a great condition to work in really!
