Specific marks only at university?

Grades range from 0-100 at uni, and all of my friends could get any mark at all from that range.

On my course the only marks I can get (from 2:1 onwards) are 62, 65, 68, 70, 75, 80, 88, 100.

As in I can't get 72 or 63 etc.

Do any other courses/unis have SPECIFIC marks only?

Yes, it happens at my Uni at least. Instead of 70 for a 1st, 60 for a 2:1 it's 72, 62, 52 etc.
Then for the actual marking I think we can only get the marks in increments of 2 or 5 so 60, 62, 64, 65, 66, 68, 70 and so on.
The letter sent out said it was done to make marking easier and define clearer boundaries for what was considered low and high in each marking band.
