Yes, it happens at my Uni at least. Instead of 70 for a 1st, 60 for a 2:1 it's 72, 62, 52 etc. Then for the actual marking I think we can only get the marks in increments of 2 or 5 so 60, 62, 64, 65, 66, 68, 70 and so on. The letter sent out said it was done to make marking easier and define clearer boundaries for what was considered low and high in each marking band.
