does the intestine contain involuntary/smooth muscle for peristalsis? i'm doing a q on where smooth muscle is found in the body but it is not on the mark scheme...

Yes, there are three types of muscle:
Skeletal muscle - the muscles that we have voluntary control of e.g. biceps, triceps.
Smooth muscle - muscle that we don't have voluntary control of and is found in the wall of the gastrointestinal tract.
Cardiac muscle - myogenic, found in the heart.
