I am a 2nd year medical student a university in northern cyprus. I recently found out that the school wasn't completely honest about the accreditation status of the medical school. I am livid right now as the tuition fee is high($20,000). I do not want to go through with the programme as i do not want to end up unemployable after spending so much money. I am now looking for options elsewhere. I would be grateful if anyone can suggest good medical schools that accept transfers, preferably within europe, that are affordable, have a good standard and a medical programme taught in english. I would be grateful if a summary of their requirements could be given too. Thank you!

This is a UK forum, and so people are mostly familiar with UK universities. You won’t be able to transfer to the UK unfortunately. International transfers are not allowed (and even transfers between UK med schools are exceptionally rare).

Countries that UK students often look at because they have programmes taught in English: Czech Republic, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria. Also maybe Malta? There is a UK university (St George’s maybe?) that runs a course in Nicosia. I have no idea whether any of these except international transfers as opposed to starting from year 1.

Remember that wherever you study, you’ll have to learn the local language to communicate with patients during the clinical component of the course, even if the teaching aspect is in English.

You’ll need to do some research yourself - no one here is going to be able to give you a list of European universities and their international transfer requirements.

Speak with Tutelage, Medical Doorway and/or InterHECS about transfers to Bulgaria.

Don't think you will be able to get a transfer if there is no accreditation as your credits are unlikely to be accepted. You might have to write this off as experience and start a fresh.

Hi, I’m sorry to hear that. Is it the university of Nicosia because I am thinking to apply there? Did you try contacting the agencies listed above? x
