It could end up as an acid test of how much support Tommy Robinson has - in the North West at least.

Contesting the Euro Elections is certainly not without risk to his future career.

Standing as an independent? It's probably not likely. If he were to be elected he'd need to gain at least 12.5% of the vote specifically for him, a bit of a tough order when there are 10 different sets of candidates on the ballot paper, and at least four of them (other than TR himself) have a hardline, pro-Brexit stance. The breakfast-means-breakfast vote is gonna be split too thinly for TR to get any serious ground.
