Am going to English literature debate chamber summer school and was wondering if anyone else has been and what was it like? I’ll be 16 and I’m a bit worried I’ll be the youngest and will find the content hard, and making friends if everyone will be older?

No wonder you're worried "Debate Chamber"; chamber sounds eerie, might as well call it "Debate Dungeon" lol

I was thinking about applying too! Do you know if there’s an application process where you are picked for it or can you simply just book a place? It sounds really good anyway

You can just book a place, I didn’t have to apply or anything I think they just asked what school I went too, and let me know if you do end up going, I’d like to know someone else who was going 😂

So I went to the English lit one two weeks ago now and it was fine because they grouped us based on age so mostly 15 and 16 yr olds for me

So with English, we had a booklet which we worked through and the tutor sort of led the discussion by asking questions for us to discuss, but a lot of the time you’re discussing with the people around you , and that really helps you understand what you’re being taught as well. I mean yeah it was awkward at first but honestly, even after the first day it’s fine because the groups are small so you get to know people really easily
