Neck problems

Hey everyone!!

I’m currently a y12 student and my neck has been aching and I’ve been needing to .. roll it so that it clicks to relieve it?

Any tips for avoiding neck ache? I’ve tried to put my books on a table stand, taken breaks from studying

Thanks

Read below. One of the most painful is if you get a pinched nerve.
Tells you how to treat below.
Sounds like poor posture, bending over desk. Make sure your neck is supported and use painkillers if needed. The links explain things along with exercises and when you might need to see the GP.

Hey thanks for the reply !!

I’ve had a pinched nerve before and it really was painful haha

Will try out the neck exercises and fix my posture...
posture is probably the issue, make sure you're sat upright with your neck straight (as much as you can given you're working)

also rolling your neck is really bad, if you're just moving it from side to side to click it that's not so bad. generally try not to click it though - it's a sensitive part of your body and you shouldn't be straining it

Couple of painkillers and see if that helps (as suggested in the NHS document). Maybe do the neck exercises every hour. Dont slouch. The links are explanatory.
