How did you find the exam? I couldn't do the plane equation question (9 marks gone), questions 8 I think and struggled with the second part of the last question (roots).

Yeah same

kinda stupid asking that vector question seems it is a brand new topic compared to all the past papers.


Last year's exam which was much easier in my opinion was just around 60% for an A and 70% for full ums so hopefully it is even lower for pure

Just pulled 2018 out of my bag and put it away, it was so much easier.

I think I did something similar ( using inverse). Also an almost identical vectors question was in the guidance for teaching for further maths, but regardless of that it was still a very nasty question to ask. Also for the other vectors question, did you find that the 2 vectors weren't perpendicular?

yes their dot products weren't 0

For the summation question with the 2m, my mates were saying 'there was a -11 on the bottom' and i have no clue what they were talking about, does it ring a bell for anyone cos i think i may have totallt missed a key detail

So they asked you to get an expression of a summation between 0 and 2m, then in the second part they asked to basically use your answer to part one, to find the solution when k starts from 11 to 2m. I did it by subtracting 0 to 10 from 0 to 20 to get 11 to 20.

I just subbed the values into the modulus, argument form and expanded. I subtracted half pi from the argument to rotate it clockwise by 90 degrees then expanded again

I used trig modulus-argument form and I got the new argument by subtracting 90° from the previous argument (in radians) since it was a clockwise rotation. Modulus remains the same
