So how did everyone find the exam personally I found it alright but I definitely failed as I didn’t include theorists, didn’t finish questions and my mind just went blank, it’s okay because I won’t be doing sociology next year!

I think I did okay. The predictions helped, as I actually revised for most of the questions, that actually came up, the night before. I wish there was one on the role of education though.

But my mind also went blank when it came to the names of the theorists, I couldn't figure out if labelling was Fletcher or Becker So I didn't mention neither, just to be safe and to not embarass myself - does anyone know how many marks you lose if you don't include the names?

I don’t think you miss major marks my teacher said the theorists are not the most important part as long as your answers right it’s fine you may miss a couple though

1. Define cultural capital (2 marks)
2. Using an example, explain how schools select pupils other than educational achievement (2 marks)
3. Outline 3 criticisms of the functionalist approach to education (6 marks)
4. Outline & explain 2 policies which cause gender differences in education (10 marks)
5. Evaluate how social class affects achievement (item) (20 marks)
6. Evaluate strengths & limitations of using structured interviews to investigate pupil's career aspirations (item) (20 marks)

The 6 & 10 & 20 mark q's were very similar to last years a level paper on 6, 30 & 10 markers
