Awesome. What's your name if we see each other? What are you doing for your presentation? Idk what to do cos like they want us to choose the most important threat to us to see our passion but like i feel if I go in there and just speak of the top of my head I'll show a lot more passion than having a PowerPoint or somit but then I could seem like i didn't prepare.

Names Jack. for my presentation ive got a quick 3 slide powerpoint going over the recent spike in data breaches between 2017 and 2018, then im going to hone in on Zero day exploits which i believe is one of the most important threats considering the recent 2016 NHS attacks.

I feel like im not very good at answering questions off the top of my head so ive planned ahead, perhaps you might not want to do a powerpoint but i would recommend doing some sort of plan for the questions.

See i think I'm going talk about social engineering as a whole briefly giving examples of different types of social engineering attacks. And like go on about how i believe humans will always be the biggest vulnerability as we can always be tricked... But then sorta briefly talk about other exploits in a casual way to show my knowledge.

Social engineering is a good one, considering humans are the biggest vulnerability but i wouldnt say they are the biggest threat in my opinion.. But a very good idea

I could argue it is lol. I'm thinking along the lines of many attacks can stem from a form of social engineering. And there are threats that come along which can be massive but they tend to be patched up straight away whereas humans can always be tricked. But yeah i feel that's the area in which I'm most passionate about so will likely be able to answer questions about easily. Good luck though

I’ve applied for the cyber security apprenticeship in manchester and I have been invited to the assessment centre. I was wondering if anyone else has been invited or has been to an assessment centre already and if you could please share some tips? Thank you!!!
Hi, I just realised this post was from last years apprentice intake. I'm applying now and have the video interview on Friday. Do they ask any technical ICT skills questions or are they all skills/behaviours based? Also, did you get the apprenticeship last year?

Honestly, I was so nervous and found the whole thing traumatising it went so badly. I had prepared written answers to go off for predicted questions but that actually just threw me off because the questions were quite specific and it meant I was busy looking at my notes for prompts rather than the camera. So I was super shocked to get the email to say I'd passed that stage. The assessment centre dates are all soon so I'd say they'll do the shortlisting and let us know pretty soon. How did your interview go?

Sorry I've only just seen this so I'm guessing you've already completed your interview. If not, here's what I can remember from mine (I was super nervous and honestly blocked it out and the questions were quite specific so I can't remember them exactly). Prepare broad answers for - why would you want to work for the government in this role? Describe a recent example of a time you prevented a problem from occurring. You will have lots of different responsibilities in this role, are you able to take on responsibility? We want people who can learn grow and develop, name a recent example of how you've grown from feedback. Detail a challenge you've overcome recently. If you got the role and had to solve a complex problem - how would you investigate the problem?
