Me too 😣 I REALLY hope Macbeth is on Guilt or Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s relationship... what’d you reckon?
the only two I don't want, I kept on think that they are easy and obvious and spent so much time on the other themes and characters that I literaly didn't revise Macbeth or Lady macbeth, and i also have way to much context

Romeo and Juliet and Jekyll and Hyde. Really hoping that science/religion comes up for J&H and fate for R&J

If it does come up, a point you can make is on Lady Macbeth who fights her way up to the top of the social hierarchy but only because she is driven by patriarchal society to do so- it was her only way to gain power in a society like that. And in her relationship with Macbeth she starts off as dominant and manipulative however she becomes guilt ridden and consumed by evil which causes her downfall. Macbeth mentions “she should’ve died hereafter” and doesn’t inflict much emotion on her death which highlights that she wasn’t very important to her. This shows his arrogance and that men were powerful in that Era. Also doesn’t include the scene of her death on stage, further highlighting that she isn’t fully important.

Another quote I know some good analysis for is “full of scorpions is my mind”. Scorpions are dangerous insects which bring fear and pain. This may reflect the pain and suffering brought upon him as he commits regicide, going against the natural order. It could be a punishment from God or might be a metaphor of his guilt- he feels the consequences of the evil acts that he has committed. Another interpretation could be that it foreshadows his “tyrannical” behaviour. He is a poisonous ruler to Scotland and creates nothing but pain and suffering to him country- linking to the theme of kingship and disloyalty to Scotland as he feels this way after killing the king and breaking the natural chain of being sent down by God.

I'm so screwed if Macduff comes up... I'm hoping it's on Lady Macbeth

(Original post by AUB3RN)
Relationships between macbeth and lady macbeth have already come up a few years ago so idk about them, it’s meant to be on minor characters like Banquo, Macduff, maybe related to loyalty or honourability?

Highly doubt that she’s gonna come up, if she does it’ll be an abstract theme

I mean I still waffled... but I could hopefully get the grade I would like, as long as the grade boundary doesn't go up.

We can only hope they won’t turn right round and slam tissue in paper 2 as compensation

I didn’t know any quotes for the Macbeth question
I used “Is this a dagger which I see before me, the handle toward my hand?”
