Definitely a BA (hons) in Performing Arts. My top choice/future firm will probably be De Montfort Uni (DMU)

Hi there! :hello:

I hope that you are well and it is fantastic to hear that you are considering us for your top choice/future firm university! We look forward to having you come and study with us.

My name is Laura and I am a current student studying here at DMU. It can seem tricky to get started with a personal statement but I promise you there are plenty of useful resources and people who can help you at your fingertips so do not worry! Don't be afraid to ask questions about writing your personal statement to your teachers/(careers) advisers at your school/college if you are currently studying (they will be all too familiar with them!) or family members that have been to university - it is likely that they may have had to write one, too! And the internet will have a lots of useful information about personal statements for you to use too which are just a quick search away.

DMU has a really useful guide top help you to get started with writing a personal statement. You can find it by following this link here: https://www.dmu.ac.uk/documents/info...statements.pdf

There is also some really handy advice on applying to university on our website that you may find helpful. You can find it here: https://www.dmu.ac.uk/information-fo...niversity.aspx and you can also find the link to the personal statement guide on this web-page too. There is also some further information about applying to university and personal statements that can be found here: https://www.dmu.ac.uk/documents/info...university.pdf. Do not worry that it says that this information is for parents and teachers, it is useful for prospective students too. As you are hoping to study a creative subject, you may be invited to come in for an interview if DMU offers you a place to study here so there are some handy tips and tricks in this guide to help best prepare you for that, too.

I remember writing my personal statement. It seemed like a daunting prospect at first but once I got going it suddenly seemed a lot less scary and was actually quite fun to write as I got to enthuse about all the things I was interested in which is essentially what the university is looking for. Compile a list of all the things you have been involved in and that interest you and that you're passionate about that relate to your course and go from there. And just be yourself!

If you have any more questions about anything, maybe about what it is like to be a student at De Montfort, then please do not hesitate to give me a shout!

Take care!

Laura
