Writing the wrong question number

If you write the wrong question number ... This was on English Lit paper 1 today, will you lose all the marks for that question or will the examiners realise that a) you can't do two Shakespeare questions and b) it is obvious it was about Scrooge and Marley and not Romeo and Juliet so they'll just mark it as the other Christmas Carol questions?

I'm sure they'll realise that you've made a mistake. I wouldn't worry about it

you just have to write the question number where your essay starts
I'm sure they'll realise, if it's a good enough response they'll know you're not stupid and not writing about the complete wrong text. Maybe they can check with your candidate number what texts you're doing, or contact the school about it.

The examiner will be slightly irritated but will realise which question you've done and reward you accordingly. Don't worry.
