"A gas containing doubly charged ions flows to give an electric current of 0.64 Amps.
How many ions pass a point in 1.0 minute"

Had no idea what to do here

If each ion has two charges then each ion has the equivalent of twice the charge of an electron.
If n ions pass the point in one minute, then the total charge would be 2ne where n = no of ions and e = charge on an electron.
Since Q=It where Q = charge, I = current, and t = time , then 2ne = It. Rearrange to find n.

1 amp per second means that 1.6x10^19 electrons pass a given point each second. That comes from the definition of a Coulomb as 1 amp per second and that one Coulomb is 1.6x10^19 electrons.

One amp is one coulomb per second. The charge on one electron is -1.6 x 10-19 C, so one coulomb is equivalent to the total charge of 6.25 x 1018 electrons.
