physics simple harmonic motion question

guys question 18(b)(i) why isnt the amplitude divided by 2...isnt the formula a=w^2x so we have to use displacement not amplitude?why are they using the amplitude?

Maximum acceleration is at the biggest displacement which is the amplitude.
Both displacement and amplitude are measured from the centre/mean position.
No need to divide by 2.
