it Said the x value of the turning point was -2
so at the turning point x=-2
y=(x+a)^2 +b
You want the brackets to =0 so a is 2 as x=-2
Given coordinates (3,1)
1=(3+2)^2 +b
1=5^2 +b
1=25+b
b=-24
y=(x+2)^2 -24
y=(-2+2)^2 -24
y=0-24=-24
