Hi apply right hand screw rule on X. Thumb is conventional current. This creates a B (magnetic field) in a loop in direction of fingers.

You then have a current in Y perpendicular to a component of the B field so you apply Fleming's left hand rule to get the force (thumb).

This is an A* question so it is hard.

Hello, I used the same method but I can't seem to get the answer the mark scheme is suggesting?

It is, Magnetic field: Towards the bottom of the page.
Force: To the left.
